Erin joined the Mechanicsville Volunteer Squad in September of 1977 at the age of 19 to become an EMT. She was voted to Active membership in March of 1978.

Erin was an extremely active member, usually running nearly daily, for many years. During her decades of service, she was Orientation Officer, Lieutenant, Sergeant, By-Law Committee Chair, Run Reports monitor, an IV Tech, and was Secretary for 13 years.

During her time here she worked for St. Mary’s County as a dispatcher for 13 years. She was an Associate Member of the Advanced Life Support Unit of St. Mary’s County for a short time and was briefly a member of the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad.

She was a charter member of the Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary.

Erin was the keeper of the corporate memory of MVRS over the decades, whatever Joyce Downs or Dr. Roache did not remember, she certainly did.

Erin was a respected and valuable member of the department and will be sorely missed. Her contributions were many and helped grow our department over the years.
